What Veya doesn't do

Veya never sells your data. Wearable data and clinical records are never used for advertising, and genetic data is never shared with employers, insurers or advertisers. Statistics we compute across members are always over groups of at least 100.

What you control

You can export everything as a JSON file from Settings, then Download My Data. You can delete individual documents, and deleting your account permanently removes your data within 30 days. You can also turn off optional features whenever you like.

In Washington State, the My Health My Data Act gives you the right to confirm, access, withdraw consent, delete and appeal. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice lists the data we collect, why, and who processes it for us. Questions go to [email protected].

AI is optional and separate

Veya's AI features, the in-app chat and photo analysis, are optional. When you ask for an insight, the relevant data goes to Google Gemini through Vertex AI, only to answer you, under a contract that forbids Google from using it for anything else. That step doesn't train any model.

Separately, there is an opt-in toggle that lets your data help train Veya's own AI models. It is off by default and you can withdraw any time. The two choices are independent. The AI Insights Terms cover both in detail, and AI answers are never medical advice.

Genetics has its own consent

Uploading genetic data is an optional beta feature. Before your first upload you see a separate genetics notice and have to agree to it. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and deleting your genetic data permanently removes the files and what was extracted from them.
