This comparison is published by Holland Neurotech Inc., the company behind Veya. Veya appears as one column among equals, with its limits stated. We compared Flo, Ovia, and Glow using each app's own listing, site and primary public records. If one of the three suits you better than Veya, use it.

Quick Answer

All three track the signs that matter for conceiving, and they differ in logging detail, partner features and what the free tier includes. Here's the fast version:

  • Logging LH tests and temperature, with a partner link: Flo. Its listing says you can log LH results and basal body temperature, and invite a partner with Flo for Partners.[1]
  • A free app with a fertility forecast and pregnancy tools: Ovia. Its listing shows the app as free and describes a fertility forecasting algorithm.[2]
  • Temperature and mucus charting built around conceiving: Glow. Its listing names basal body temperature and cervical mucus tracking, with an advanced BBT chart under Premium.[3]
This article is educational and not medical advice. Fertile-window estimates are statistical, they don't guarantee when ovulation happens, and none of these apps is birth control.

How Do Flo, Ovia, and Glow Compare for Trying to Conceive?

The table compares the three on the points TTC readers ask about most, with Veya as a fourth column for reference. Competitor cells come from each app's own App Store listing or site, read on October 16, 2026. "Not named" means the listing doesn't mention it, so check in the app.

What Method Does Each App Use to Find Your Fertile Window?

Each app estimates your fertile window from logged cycle history, and adds signals like LH tests or temperature where it supports them. Flo, Ovia and Glow all describe algorithm-based predictions. The estimate is a probability, not a confirmation of ovulation.[1][2][3]

The biology explains why signals help. A study of 221 women found conception was only possible in the six days ending on the day of ovulation.[6] Ovulation follows the LH surge by about one to two days in a study of 53 women across 150 cycles.[7] A calendar guess can't see any of that, so apps that take LH or temperature entries have more to work with. Our encyclopedia entries on the fertile window and the LH surge go deeper.

What Does Flo Offer for Trying to Conceive?

Flo's listing says you can log LH or ovulation test results and basal body temperature, and track discharge to recognize fertile signs. Fertility insights for trying to conceive are listed under Premium, and Flo for Partners lets you invite a partner.[1]

Once you conceive, Pregnancy Mode adds checklists, weekly updates and daily articles, with in-depth pregnancy features under Premium.[1] The listing shows about 2 million ratings at 4.7 out of 5. Premium purchases are listed at several prices up to $59.99 without plan labels, so check the subscription screen before relying on a number. For the two-way view, see Flo vs Ovia and Flo vs Glow.

What Does Ovia Offer for Trying to Conceive?

Ovia's listing describes a "fertility forecasting algorithm" that predicts fertility windows and ovulation, plus the ability to share daily updates with a partner. The app is listed as free, and premium tools such as health coaching are available through an employer or health plan.[2]

The US listing doesn't name BBT, LH test or cervical mucus logging, so if those matter, open the app and confirm before you commit. For pregnancy, the listing describes a baby growth calendar, due date countdown, bump tracker and fetal movement tracker, with Ovia and Ovia Pregnancy merged into one app.[2] Labcorp announced its acquisition of Ovia Health on August 12, 2021.[12] More options are in our Ovia alternatives guide.

What Does Glow Offer for Trying to Conceive?

Glow's listing says its app aims to predict your fertile window and ovulation day, and names basal body temperature, cervical mucus and sexual activity among the signs you can track. An advanced BBT chart sits behind Premium.[3]

Glow's site lists four apps: an Ovulation Tracker, a Pregnancy Tracker, a Baby Tracker and a Period Tracker (Eve). One Premium membership covers all four at $59.99 a year after a 7-day free trial.[4] The App Store listing shows several Premium price points, so confirm the one you're offered. The pregnancy handoff means installing a second app, which is a different shape from Flo's single Pregnancy Mode. See Glow alternatives for other options.

Which App Has the Best Partner Features?

Flo and Ovia both list partner features on their App Store pages. Flo for Partners lets you invite your partner into the app, and Ovia lets you share daily updates with a partner or friend. Glow's listing doesn't name a partner feature, and Clue's listing doesn't mention partner sharing either.[1][2][3][5]

Neither listing says whether the partner feature is free or Premium, so check before you plan around it. Our best fertility tracking app guide and best ovulation tracker app comparison cover more partner and hardware options, and Premom vs Flo covers strip-reading.

What Do the Privacy Records Show for TTC Data?

Conception data is sensitive, so the records matter. Flo settled with the FTC in 2021, Glow settled with California's Attorney General in 2020, and Ovia has been owned by Labcorp since 2021. None of that makes an app unsafe, but each is worth knowing before you log fertility data.

Flo: The FTC announced a proposed settlement on January 13, 2021, alleging Flo shared health data with third parties including Facebook's and Google's analytics divisions, AppsFlyer and Flurry. The final order came June 22, 2021.[8][9] A related $59.5 million class settlement has a court final approval hearing on October 29, 2026, and a jury returned a verdict for the plaintiffs against Meta on August 1, 2025.[10] Flo's listing now describes an Anonymous Mode.[1]

Glow: On September 17, 2020, California's Attorney General announced a settlement with Glow, Inc. with a $250,000 civil penalty. The press release alleges the app failed to safeguard health information adequately, allowed access to user information without consent, and had a password-change function that could let third parties reset passwords.[11]

Ovia: The listing says premium tools come through an employer or health plan, so read the privacy terms of whoever offers it to you before entering sensitive information.[2]

Where Does Veya Fit for Trying to Conceive?

Veya suits people who want fertility signs next to sleep, mood and nutrition. You log LH results and cervical mucus, and basal temperature can be imported from a wearable such as Apple Watch, Oura Ring or Garmin. It is free to download, and it is one honest option among equals here.

The tradeoffs: Veya is iOS only (a web app covers other platforms), you log LH tests by hand rather than scanning strips, and it has no community feature like Flo's or Glow's. We haven't confirmed partner features, so we leave that cell open. See best pregnancy tracking app for how pregnancy apps compare once you conceive.

Which Should You Choose: Flo, Ovia, or Glow?

Choose by the signal you plan to log. For LH tests and temperature in one app, Flo's listing names both. For a free app with a fertility forecast, Ovia. For temperature and mucus charting inside a TTC-focused family of apps, Glow.

Choose Flo if:

  • You want to log LH results and BBT in one app
  • You'd like a partner link and a single Pregnancy Mode for later
  • You're comfortable with Flo's privacy history or will use Anonymous Mode

Choose Ovia if:

  • You want a free app and a fertility forecast
  • Your employer or health plan offers Ovia's premium tools
  • You want pregnancy tools like a kick counter in the same app later

Choose Glow if:

  • You want BBT and cervical mucus charting from the start
  • You don't mind separate Pregnancy and Baby apps under one Premium membership
  • You've read Glow's privacy record and are comfortable with it

Frequently Asked Questions

Which app is best for trying to conceive: Flo, Ovia, or Glow?

It depends on the signals you want to log. Flo's listing names LH test results and basal body temperature, Glow's names BBT and cervical mucus, and Ovia is free with a fertility forecasting algorithm. None of them can confirm ovulation or guarantee conception.

Can Flo, Ovia, or Glow log ovulation tests?

Flo's listing says you can log LH or ovulation test results. Glow's and Ovia's US listings don't name ovulation test logging, so check inside the app. If you want the app to read strips for you, see our Premom vs Flo comparison.

How much do Flo, Ovia, and Glow cost for TTC?

Ovia is listed as free, with premium tools available through an employer or plan. Glow Premium is $59.99 a year after a 7-day trial on Glow's site. Flo's core tracking is free, and its Premium purchases are listed up to $59.99 without plan labels. All as of October 2026.

Do these apps have partner features?

Flo lists Flo for Partners, which lets you invite a partner. Ovia lets you share daily updates with a partner, sibling or friend. Glow's listing doesn't name a partner feature. Listings don't say if these are free, so check in the app.

What happens to my data when I get pregnant?

Flo switches to Pregnancy Mode inside the same app. Ovia merged its cycle and pregnancy apps and lists a baby growth calendar and due date countdown. Glow uses a separate Pregnancy Tracker app under the same Premium membership.

How accurate are fertile-window predictions?

They're estimates. Calendar-based predictions can't see your actual ovulation, which in one study of 53 women followed the LH surge by about one to two days. Logging LH tests or temperature gives an app more to work with, but no app can guarantee when you ovulate.

Is there an alternative that combines fertility signs with other health data?

Veya lets you log LH and cervical mucus, imports wearable temperature, and tracks sleep, mood and nutrition alongside. It is iOS only, has no community feature, and you log LH tests by hand.

How We Compared These Apps

On October 16, 2026 we read the live US App Store listings for Flo, Ovia (Ovia Cycle & Pregnancy Tracker) and Glow (Glow Ovulation & Period App), plus Glow's Premium pricing page and the Clue listing for partner features. Prices are the in-app purchase and site prices shown that day. We read the FTC press releases and the court-approved settlement notice for Flo, and the California Attorney General's press release for Glow. Biology figures come from two PubMed-indexed studies. We did not install or test the apps. Where a listing doesn't name a feature we say "not named" rather than assume it is absent. Veya is our own app and is described only by features we publish elsewhere on this site.
